Overview

Fluoride [18F] thretide (also known as LNC1007) is a radiopharmaceutical diagnostic imaging agent developed by Shanghai Lannacheng Biotechnology, a subsidiary of Dongcheng Pharmaceutical. It consists of a peptide-based ligand, thretide, which exhibits high affinity for prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), labeled with the positron-emitting radioisotope fluorine-18 ([18F]). PSMA is a transmembrane protein that is significantly overexpressed in prostate cancer cells compared to normal tissues, making it an ideal target for molecular imaging. Upon intravenous administration, the tracer binds to PSMA-expressing cells, enabling the detection and localization of primary and metastatic prostate cancer lesions using PET/CT or PET/MRI. It is primarily being developed for the evaluation of patients with biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer to identify the site and extent of disease when conventional imaging is negative or equivocal.
